INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN PILOTS

The Ninety-Nines was founded by a group of 99 licensed women pilots in 1929 to provide mutual support and advancement of aviation.  The organization remains vibrant and relevant today, and aims to:

  • Promote world fellowship through flight,
  • Provide networking and scholarship opportunities for women, and aviation education in the community,
  • Preserve the unique history of women in aviation.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We have been invited to tour the Freeman Army Airfield Museum at Seymour airport for our October meeting!  We will meet at SER at 1100 on Sunday, October 15, have a short meeting, lunch, and then tour the museum.  Family and friends are welcome, and Linda will provide lunch!  Please RSVP to Linda so she knows how many will attend.  Many thanks to museum curator, Larry Bothe, for the invitation!  Ladies, you don’t want to miss this!

We were thrilled to celebrate Betty’s 50 years as a Ninety-Nine during our August meeting at Terre Haute.  Betty is pictured below with some of her family.  Thanks for your dedication to the Ninety-Nines!
